As part of the EU-funded MOCCA (Multi-level Orders of Corruption in Central Asia) project, a delegation from Zhetysu University named after Zhansugurov (Kazakhstan), led by Rector E.A. Buribayev, visited the Law Enforcement Academy during their visit to Uzbekistan.
The meeting between MOCCA consortium members—Zhetysu University and the Law Enforcement Academy—focused on advancing collaboration in research and education. Discussions included the signing of a cooperation agreement that will facilitate knowledge exchange, joint research initiatives, academic mobility, and student exchange programmes. Additionally, the agreement covers capacity-building efforts for faculty and staff, internship opportunities, and participation in international grant-funded activities, aligning with MOCCA’s objectives of modernising curricula and fostering regional cooperation in higher education.
The delegation was also introduced to the Academy’s key areas of expertise, including the training and professional development of prosecution and investigative personnel. Visitors gained insights into the Academy’s innovative teaching methodologies, advanced educational infrastructure, and the comprehensive support systems available for faculty, students, and trainees.
This engagement underscores the MOCCA project’s commitment to strengthening academic partnerships and promoting governance and anti-corruption reforms across Central Asia. The collaboration between Zhetysu University and the Law Enforcement Academy is expected to contribute significantly to the exchange of best practices and the development of high-quality educational programmes in the region.
